She has experience managing a multi-state product liability defense program for an automobile manufacturer, and serves as lead counsel for a major automobile manufacturer in defense of its products. Ms. Marek has represented manufacturers in dealer and franchise, consumer law and warranty litigation. She has represented individuals, small companies and large corporations in employment and commercial litigation, and defends personal injury and premises liability cases on behalf of insurance companies. She has written briefs for the Product Liability Advisory Council, and has served as a legal writing and appellate advocacy instructor at the University of Minnesota Law School.

Ms. Marek is a graduate of The University of Notre Dame Law School. (J.D., 1983). She is admitted to practice in Minnesota and Colorado, as well as various federal courts throughout the country. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Hennepin County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association, Minnesota Women Lawyers, and the Douglas K. Amdahl Inn of Court.
